Cowboy Stadium

If you haven’t seen it yet, the new Cowboy Stadium located in Arlington is truly a sight to be seen. Home of the mighty cowboys, the brand new stadium can seat over 80,000, and has a capacity of 110,000. The price tag? A mere $1.15 BILLION dollars.

Just what do you spend all that money on, you might ask? Well to start with you build the biggest, baddest stadium anyone has ever seen. Then, you throw a retractable roof on it - don’t want those free spending season ticket holders to get wet during the winter. But you want to be able to open it up on nice days too. Retractable roof, best of both worlds.

Stadium owners have been wondering for ages how to allow players to interact with their fans, and this stadium really nails it. Players on the ground level get to watch players from both teams run on and off the field, because they’re only separated by glass. There’s also viewing areas located in the end zones for fans who want to get really close to the action. Standing room only fellas; but for your troubles, consider this a gift: girls dancing above you.

However, the most defining feature of the new stadium the video screen which can only be described as ridiculous. At 11,520 square feet (that’s 160 x 72 feet), it is the largest HD screen in the world. To put it in perspective, the screen costs $40 million. The Cowboy’s former home - Texas Stadium - cost $35 million TOTAL.

In a funny bit of trivia info, during the first game Tennessee Titans kicker A. J. Trapasso punted a football which hit the giant screen. Jerry Jones, owner of the cowboys, thinks he was trying to hit the screen. You decide. Cowboys Stadium is located 20 minutes south of DFW. From DFW, take the 360s until Division.
