When it comes to business trips, you can either have a really enjoyable experience during one, or you can have a really terrible time. I have been on quite a few business trips, and from my personal experience, what really makes or breaks a trip is the city that you are visiting. If you are visiting a great city, you will have an enjoyable time (even if some of the business aspects of your trip don’t go exactly as you planned). However, if you get stuck in a lame city, it’s going to be hard to enjoy your time because you’re never going to be able to relax in between meetings and any other business functions.
My latest business trip was to Dallas, and fortunately, because Dallas is a very nice city, I had a very enjoyable trip. My days were basically full from 6am to 5pm, but once 5pm came around, I had the entire evening to go out and enjoy the city of Dallas. Not only is Dallas full of great restaurants, but it’s also got a vibrant nightlife, so it’s a great city to unwind in after a long day of working.
