Visiting Meyerson Symphony at Dallas

When you are visiting Dallas, don’t miss a tour in Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Widely known as one of the finest center for ultimate acoustic experience, it was opened in September 1989 and continued to be a center of musical excellence ever since.

The Symphony Centre is located in Flora Street of Downtown Dallas. The center hosts a number of musical groups such as Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Turtle Creek Chorale, the Dallas wind symphony and the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra.

This wonderful building was designed by I. M. Pei, an award-winning architect. He has installed some very impressive architectural features and designed the whole space in such a way so that the acoustics quality of the space can be one of a kind to make it a perfect place for orchestra and other musical events. In fact, the Meyerson is considered as one of the greatest concert halls in the world.

People of Dallas were feeling the necessity of a modern facility for musical activities and gatherings. On the other hand, Dallas Symphony Orchestra was also looking for a new home. As a response to these issues, Dallas City Authority and Dallas Symphony Association made a partnership and collected a large part of necessary fund to build this facility. In 1989, the effort initiated a new era in the musical scenario in Dallas with the opening of the Meyerson.
